Proud Sponsors of Joe Gibbs Racing Drivers Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin and JGRMX Riders Justin Brayton and Davi Milsaps!
Sport Clips has been an active sponsor in the fastest sport in America - AUTO RACING! We have Sponsored NASCAR drivers for many years, Sprint car racing and even had a car in the 2006 Indianapolis 500 driven by Italy's Max Papis!
Sport Clips Racing is proud to enter its third season as a partner with Joe Gibbs Racing and will serve as the primary sponsor of NASCAR's Denny Hamlin's # 11 Sprint Cup car in the 2011 spring Darlington race and Richmond Nationwide race. Logano will pilot the No. 20 Sport Clips Toyota in four Nationwide Series events, starting in February at Phoenix International Raceway and continuing in July at Daytona International Speedway, in September at Chicagoland Speedway and in early October at Dover International Speedway.
Logano's NASCAR Nationwide Series efforts serve to coincide with his efforts on the other side of the NASCAR garages in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, where the youngster drives the No. 20 Home Depot Toyota on a weekly basis. And while Logano is still maturing and improving on the Sprint Cup side of the garage, in the Nationwide garage, he is one of the most feared competitors on the track. That was proven in 2010, when Logano continued his stellar NASCAR Nationwide Series career by winning two races, earning a series-leading eight pole awards and finishing in the top-10 in 24 of his 25 starts. And despite missing a total of 10 races during the season due to commitments on the Sprint Cup side of the garage, Logano still finished an impressive eighth in the overall point standings and had the best average finish of any driver.
Less than two weeks after turning 18 in May, of 2008 Logano made his Nationwide Series debut at Dover (Del.) International Speedway and earned his first pole in only his second-career start at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway in June. His third start in the Nationwide Series would be one for the record books. Logano captured the pole at Kentucky Speedway on his way to becoming the youngest winner in Nationwide Series history at 18 years and 21 days on June 14. He would compete in a total of 19 Nationwide Series events – 18 races in the No. 20 and one in the No. 18 Toyotas - earning one win, three poles and 14 top-10 finishes. Logano, along with Tony Stewart, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch secured the car owner's championship for the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Team.
The 2009 season also marked a coming out party for Logano in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, where he racked up five wins, four poles and 13 top-five finishes in just 22 starts. Wins came at tracks like Auto Club Speedway, Nashville Superspeedway, Kentucky Speedway, Gateway International Raceway and Chicagoland Speedway. Then, in 2010, Logano continued to reign on the Nationwide Series, padding his win and pole totals while also becoming the first driver to ever win three-straight events at one track while starting from the pole, a feat he accomplished at Kentucky Speedway. Logano brought Sport Clips its first Nationwide Series victory last season, winning from the pole at Kansas Speedway. That win gave him eight career wins and 15 career pole positions. Even more impressive are Logano's top-10 stats. In just 66-career NASCAR Nationwide Series events, Logano has finished in the top-10 a remarkable 54 times, or 82% of the time.
Now, Logano will battle through another NASCAR Nationwide Series season, competing in 21-scheduled events, 17 with sponsor GameStop and four with sponsor Sport Clips. And Logano will embark on the 2011 season with a new crew chief, Adam Stevens, who comes to the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing team after spending the last several years as lead engineer on the No. 20 Home Depot Cup team with Logano behind the wheel.
Sport Clips has broadened its JGR relationship as an Official Sponsor of the JGRMX Professional Motocross Racing Team. Joe Gibbs is known for saying; "in professional sports you win with people,” and the JGRMX team has some of the best talent in the industry, in the garage and on the track. Coy Gibbs, Joe’s youngest son leads the motocross effort while his older brother J.D. runs the NASCAR operations. Veteran championship tuner Jeremy Albrecht is the team manager, with Justin Brayton and Davi Milsaps the two riders racing in the premier classes in both supercross and motocross.
In just its second year (2009) the fledgling effort won a supercross main event as well as a motocross national overall event. “Motocross is much bigger than many people realize,” said team owner Coy Gibbs. “It’s the second most attended motorsport in the U.S. behind only NASCAR. SportClips has been a great addition to our NASCAR racing, and we feel they are a perfect fit with our sport and our audience.
